“The birth of Jesus Christ took place in this way. His mother Mary had been promised to Joseph in marriage. But before they were married, Mary realized that she was pregnant by the Holy Spirit.” (Matthew 1:18 – GW)
I wanted to dig a little deeper on the last two words, Holy Spirit. So I looked it up in the Strongs Dictionary… PNEUMA (pnyoo’-mah) “a current of air, that is, breath (blast) or a breeze; by analogy or figuratively a SPIRIT, that is, (human) the rational soul, (by implication) VITAL (Defined: Absolutely Necessary) PRINCIPLE, or (superhuman) an angel, DAEMON, or (divine) God, Christ’s spirit, the Holy spirit: – ghost, life, spirit, mind.”
Did you see that word, DAEMON? What is that doing in there? I thought it was a relative of the devil or something like that. Here is the real definition: “DAEMON – In multitasking computer operating systems, a daemon is a computer program that runs as a background process, rather than being under the direct control of an INTERACTIVE user.” Hmmm… not sure I know what INTERACTIVE means. Let’s find out.
From the Cambridge Dictionary the word “INTERACTIVE” means – (of two people or things) influencing or having an effect on each other.
1. An interactive system or computer program is DESIGNED TO INVOLVE THE USER IN THE EXCHANGE OF INFORMATION:
2. INVOLVING COMMUNICATION …
Man! We need to get closer to the Holy Spirit. Who knew we would get all that from “two words.“ A lot of Christian’s think that means praying in tongues and that’s all. Yes, that’s part of it, but there’s a whole lot more. Some people who are reading this just learned the Holy Spirit is like a “current of air, that is, breath (blast) or a breeze.” He is “VITAL and Absolutely Necessary, or (superhuman). He is like a DAEMON – a computer program that runs as a background process. And, the Holy Spirit is INTERACTIVE, hanging around inside, in the background of our life, waiting for us to let the Holy Spirit influence or having an effect on each other. He is like an interactive system or computer program, that is DESIGNED TO INVOLVE THE USER IN THE EXCHANGE OF INFORMATION…INVOLVING COMMUNICATION…
So, what am I trying to say? I’m saying… When Jesus left this earth He gave us the best gift ever, He gave us Himself, in the form of the Holy Spirit. He told us that He would never leave us. How can He be everywhere all the time? I don’t know the how, but I know the Who… Jesus.
Pastor Kevin Kinchen
“I have told you this while I’m still with you. However, the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you everything. He will remind you of everything that I have ever told you…” (John 14: 25-26)
Great Word!!!
