Get Up!

Get Up

Get Up

This has been on my heart since yesterday —
If you are reading this, we can all assume that you are alive. And if you’re alive… there is a reason why. Here’s “why” you are still alive, it’s because God created YOU for a specific purpose. And He created a plan for YOU to fulfill that purpose, which must NOT be finished yet…. since you’re still here. The Bible says, “God has made us what we are. He has created us in Christ Jesus to live lives filled with good works that He has prepared for us to do.” (Eph. 3:10 GW)

So, since God already has “good works” that HE “has prepared for us to do,” it wouldn’t be right for us to say, “I’m waiting on God.” I’ve heard a countless amount of people who have convinced themselves “they are waiting on God” when in fact, “God is waiting on them.” Yes, there are times when we “wait” on God for His wisdom or maybe His timing… but that’s not what I’m talking about.

The Apostle Paul had a face-to-face encounter with Jesus. He surrendered his life to Him and then asked, “What do You want me to do, Lord?” The Lord told him, “Get up! Go into the city of Damascus, and you’ll be told everything I’ve arranged for you to do.”
Everything was in place according to God’s plan, NOT Paul’s plan. Once he arrived in Damascus, a man named Ananias told Paul more details. Right after that, Ananias asked Paul, “What are you waiting for now? Get up! Be baptized, and have your sins washed away as you call on His name.”

Did you notice that TWICE Paul was told to, “Get up!” God had everything ready, the only thing missing was, Paul. And if you’re still reading this I want to tell you to, “GET UP!” Stop thinking you don’t have a purpose. Stop thinking God is mad at you or you blew your chance when you did something bad. It’s time to Get Up! Stop being afraid of failing and stop making excuses like, “I don’t know how… or, I don’t know enough of the Bible.” Just GET UP! You DO have a purpose, and it must be important because God told me to tell you to……. GET UP!

In Him,
