Who is running from who?

Mark 5:1-2, 6 (NLT) “So they arrived at the other side of the lake, in the region of the Gerasenes. When Jesus climbed out of the boat, a man possessed by an evil spirit came out from a cemetery to meet Him….When Jesus was still some distance away, the man saw Him, ran to meet Him, and bowed low before Him.”

Notice that even a man completely possessed by many demons still has the ability to bow down to Jesus. NO demon can dominate over someone who desires Jesus…keep reading.

Mark 5:7-8, 10 – With a shriek, he screamed, “Why are You interfering with me, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? In the name of God, I beg You, don’t torture me!” Then the evil spirits begged Him again and again not to send them to some distant place…..

These verses have a great revelation within them for every believer. Sadly, in many churches today, Christians are the ones begging for the devil to leave them alone and stop torturing them. But, according to this Scripture, it’s the devil that is begging for mercy! We MUST become the believers God desires us to be. We are NOT beggars!

The Bible tells us in Mark 16:15, 17….And then He told them, “Go into all the world and preach the Good News to everyone…These miraculous signs will accompany those who believe: They will cast out demons in My name, and they will speak in new languages.”

WE have the power over demons. We just have to KNOW it and BELIEVE it. So, realize the power that we have IN Jesus and in His name. We have been given the authority over satan and God will back up that authority because He’s the One who gave it to us. Stop running from the enemy, turn around, and put the enemy on the run. It’s time to say, “Enough is enough!” Remember, the ONLY power the devil has, is the power WE give him, when we believe his lies over God’s truth!
