The perfect answer for the perfect storm.

Living in a society where people have more access to “information” than ever before can create a false sense of security. If you want to KNOW something…you just Google it and you will find thousands of answers within a few seconds. If you take this “information age” and add the impatience of our society that wants an answer or a result RIGHT NOW, you end up with THE PERFECT STORM for disaster. How so?

Let me explain. Proverbs 3:5-6 says, “Trust in the LORD with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek His will in all you do, and He will show you which path to take.” (NLT) God knows everything, and I mean everything. He doesn’t just know information that has been found on a search engine on the internet. He knows EVERYTHING including YOUR FUTURE! When we lean on, or depend on, “our human understanding” we cut off God’s insight that HE has planned for us. People research something on the internet and suddenly become an expert. Therefore, they calculate the paths and directions for their life all by themselves…without God. We lean on OUR understanding. Why would we do that?

Let me tell you why. Because we are too impatient to seek out and wait on the Lord. God is not a genie in a bottle that we rub and get an instant answer. Sometimes God has to prepare us for His epic plan He has for us. What I have found is that God gives me the information I need for that time. When I ACT on the given information He is faithful to give me more…in His perfect timing.

So, who are YOU trusting your life to….yourself or God. I think the answer is obvious. Put your trust in God, follow His instructions, and enjoy His way of life. And remember, the more you know Him, the more you trust Him. He’s THE PERFECT ANSWER for THE PERFECT STORM.

in Him,

  1. Kevin,

I sent you an email on 2/16 with a dream I had about you and me. This picture you sent with your e-quip devotion on 2/18 is from the dream. Your picture shows a lounge chair, a lake, and a storm. Each of the three elements was what I saw in three different scenes in the dream. I didn’t see them together like your picture, but saw all three of them separately in the dream. Pretty wild!

We won’t make it to Al’s celebration. We will miss seeing you. Give Al our love and congratulations.

    Love, Robert
