Kevin and Josh Kinchen

The reality that Jesus now dwells inside of us, and what that means concerning our restoration with our Father, explodes when we “dwell in Him.” (John 15:4-7) It’s through Jesus we can know God personally. That is why Jesus said in John 14:6, “I am the way, the truth, and the life, and no one comes to the Father except through Me.” It is when we see Him, that we see the Father. (John 14:9) It’s all about knowing Jesus and knowing the Father.

My question for you is, “Are you dwelling in Jesus?”

Allow me to give you an example of identifying the Father by knowing the Son. One time my wife and I were eating at a restaurant for the first time. I noticed that our waitress was looking at me in an inquisitive way. Finally, she said to me, “You MUST be Joshua Kinchen’s father!” I had never seen this person in my life and responded, “How do you know I have to be Joshua Kinchen’s father when you don’t even know me?” She said, “You look exactly like him only in an older body!” Right then I realized this waitress knew the father because she had already met the son.

It’s the same way with God. We know who He is because we know His Son, Jesus Christ. Jesus is our way to the Father! If you are already saved, that’s awesome. But what about this relationship with the Father? The same way a soul thirsts for the living water that only Jesus can satisfy, our Heavenly Father thirsts for a relationship with you and me.

Have you ever been so thirsty you thought you would pass out if you did not find water? I am talking about that kind of thirst. The Father and the Son have already done their part; now it’s our turn. So, don’t just know you are going to heaven, but step into knowing the One who created heaven. Enjoy this relationship the way God designed it to be…..personal and intimate.

In Him,

Pastor Kevin Kinchen
