So, you are a Christian and you believe the Word of God (The Bible) as truth. Therefore, you find a promise that applies to you, and your situation, and you claim that promise as yours. Maybe you need healing so you stand on the promise in 3 John 1:2 which says you are “in health.” My point is that you believe the promise God has given you in His Word….you have FAITH.
BUT….if you have FAITH then how come you haven’t seen results? Many people immediately assume they must not have “enough” faith. I’m pretty sure that’s not the problem though because it only takes a “mustard seed” dose of faith to move an entire mountain.
Then what’s the hold up??? The verse below (And the one in the picture.) tells us that faith alone is NOT enough. WHAT??? You see, there’s another thing required that MUST be attached to your faith…it’s called, P…A…T…I…E…N…C…E. You know, that “P” word that no one likes to talk about. In this fast-paced cyber world society we live in, we don’t have time for patience.
In my situation with a diagnosis of ALS, I am trusting and believing, in other words I have faith, in every promise I can find about healing. And through faith AND patience I will OBTAIN the promise. MEMORIZE THIS NEXT STATEMENT! “FAITH allows me to SEE myself completely healed, but PATIENCE is necessary to OBTAIN what I see.” Tell yourself every day, “My FAITH allows me to SEE myself completely healed, but PATIENCE is necessary to OBTAIN what I see.” Of course you interject what your situation is like healing, prosperity, your marriage, kids, or whatever.
The bottom line is that in this world there will ALWAYS be troubles, tests, and trials. But Jesus said that He has overcome the world. So lift your head up, have faith in God, and be patient…results will follow. God has given us His promise on that!
“We do not want you to become lazy, but to imitate those who through FAITH AND PATIENCE inherit what has been promised. When God made His promise to Abraham, since there was no one greater for Him to swear by, He swore by Himself, saying, ‘I will surely bless you and give you many descendants.’ And so after WAITING PATIENTLY, Abraham received what was promised.” (Hebrews 6:12-15 NIV)
