Preachers and Pulpits and Passion, Oh My….

Attention Pastors, Youth Pastors, Children’s Pastors, Evangelists, Teachers, Preachers, Life Group Leaders, etc.  –

Kevin - Sketch

If you are like me you love it when God gives you a message to share. You can’t wait to be in front of an audience so you can preach it or teach it. You have a passion for that message. There is nothing wrong with that. HOWEVER, sometimes the message becomes the focal point instead of the people.

Question: Are YOU willing to turn in your “passion for preaching” for a “passion for people?” You see, when you are a preacher that loves your calling, it’s so easy to focus on what goes on behind the pulpit instead of what goes on IN FRONT of the pulpit. You have to ask yourself, “Why am I so passionate for that message?” Is it to impress or to impart? Is it for the response from the people or for the results in each individual person? I am asking you to search your own heart about your passion.

Folks, the only way to have a pure and perfect passion is to FIRST have a passion for God through a RELATIONSHIP with God. Only God can put the right passion, with the right motive, inside of you at the right time. WHEN YOUR PASSION FOR GOD EXCEEDS YOUR PASSION FOR A MESSAGE, YOU WILL TAP-INTO WHAT HE CAN DO IN THE HEART OF PEOPLE! And the only way I know to have passion for God is to spend time with Him; focused, undistracted, quality time with Him. Start today because we are too late in the game to wait until tomorrow.
