Grace Is And Grace Is Not

GRACE is the freedom and the ability to live a holy life unto God that is totally free from the bondage of sin. GRACE is NOT the freedom to live however you wish while thinking that sin is no longer sin; an “anything goes” mentality. GRACE DOES NOT CHANGE SIN INTO RIGHTEOUSNESS, IT CHANGES THE PERSON INTO THE RIGHTEOUS. Don’t keep living your life the way it “used to be.” Pull from the NEW ressurected life of Christ that now dwells inside you. As obvious as it is to see the difference between a dead body and a live body, it should also be just as obvious between our “old” life and our “new” life. Remember, if YOU can’t SEE a difference in your own life, then neither can anyone else. By and with God’s grace, become the LIFE and the LIGHT that reflects Jesus to the whole world. If He can make the moon reflect the glory of the sun to the entire earth, then He can certainly make us a reflection of the glory of the “Son” of God to all the earth as well.

ROMANS 6:6-14 MSG –
“Could it be any clearer? Our old way of life was nailed to the cross with Christ, a decisive end to that sin-miserable life – no longer at sin’s every beck and call! What we believe is this: If we get included in Christ’s sin-conquering death, we also get included in his life-saving resurrection. We know that when Jesus was raised from the dead it was a signal of the end of death-as-the-end. Never again will death have the last word. When Jesus died, he took sin down with him, but alive he brings God down to us. From now on, think of it this way: Sin speaks a dead language that means nothing to you; God speaks your mother tongue, and you hang on every word. You are dead to sin and alive to God. That’s what Jesus did.

That means you must not give sin a vote in the way you conduct your lives. Don’t give it the time of day. Don’t even run little errands that are connected with that old way of life. Throw yourselves wholeheartedly and full-time – remember, you’ve been raised from the dead! – into God’s way of doing things. Sin can’t tell you how to live. After all, you’re not living under that old tyranny any longer. You’re living in the freedom of God.”

In Him,
Pastor Kevin Kinchen

  1. We needed to hear this message. I fear that some who focus on radical grace think it is ok to sin. Wrong! We are free to live a righteous life in Christ. Thanks for the Word.

  2. Jesus did for us what we cannot do for ourselves. Live a totally righteous life and always obey our Father. Righteousness is His gift to us. Thank you Jesus. While He is restoring His image in us, we are righteous in Christ and CAN have intimate fellowship with our Father and with Jesus.
