Healing IS God’s Will….And An update On Tassie

OK, this is a bit long, but please read it all the way through. Today’s message can literally save and change lives when applied. In Acts chapter 3 we find Peter and John on their way into the temple for prayer. As they enter they see a man begging who had been lame from birth. As the man extended his hand for some money, this took place……..

Peter said, “I don’t have a nickel to my name, but what I do have, I give you: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk!” He grabbed him by the right hand and pulled him up. In an instant his feet and ankles became firm. He jumped to his feet and walked. The man went into the Temple with them, walking back and forth, dancing and praising God. Everybody there saw him walking around and praising God. They recognized him as the one who sat begging at the Temple’s Gate Beautiful and rubbed their eyes, astonished, scarcely believing what they were seeing. The man threw his arms around Peter and John, ecstatic.

All the people ran up to where they were at Solomon’s Porch to see it for themselves. When Peter saw he had a congregation, he addressed the people: “Oh, Israelites, why does this take you by such complete surprise, and why stare at us as if our power or piety made him walk? The God of Abraham and Isaac and Jacob, the God of our ancestors, has glorified his Son Jesus. The very One that Pilate called innocent, you repudiated………Faith in Jesus’ name put this man, whose condition you know so well, on his feet—yes, faith and nothing but faith put this man healed and whole right before your eyes.” (Acts 3:6-13, 16 (MSG)

Peter confirms that HEALING is God’s idea and God’s will because after the lame man was healed he says, “The God of Abraham and Isaac and Jacob, the God of our ancestors, has glorified his Son Jesus.”

Here is a truth that will NEVER EVER CHANGE…..“Healing glorifies Jesus!”

Peter makes sure that no one thinks it was them who healed the man by saying, “Oh, Israelites, why does this take you by such complete surprise, and why stare at us as if our power or piety made him walk.”

Here is the lump sum of the part WE play in it all, it’s in verse 16. “Faith in Jesus’ name put this man, whose condition you know so well, on his feet – yes, faith and nothing but faith put this man healed and whole right before your eyes.” It was FAITH IN JESUS and the “action” of “praying for the man” which came from that FAITH IN JESUS which resulted in him becoming whole. Man believed, man acted, God healed, and Jesus was glorified. A typical day in the life of a true believer!!!

With all this in mind, please keep praying for Margie’s cousin, Tassie. They did an MRI and found she had a stroke while in the coma from the aneurism and blood clot. The doctors are using words like “if” she wakes up she will have this or that. Folks, those might be the facts, BUT THE TRUTH IS….“Faith in Jesus’ name puts Tassie, whose condition the doctors know so well, on her feet – yes, faith and nothing but faith puts Tassie healed and whole right before our eyes.” Amen? Let’s ALL AGREE that Jesus is glorified in the miraculous healing of Tassie!!! Amen.

Thanks for praying! Please get Tassie on any prayer list you know of. And remember, “Prayers offered in faith will save those who are sick, and the Lord will cure them. If you have sinned, you will be forgiven.” (James 5:15 GWT)

In Him,
Pastor Kevin Kinchen
