Philippians 1:3-4 (MSG)
“Every time you cross my mind, I break out in exclamations of thanks to God. Each exclamation is a trigger to prayer. I find myself praying for you with a glad heart.”
Remember when that person you haven’t thought about in a long time all the sudden “popped” in your head? Or, maybe you saw someone from a distance and you could not stop thinking about that person for the rest of the day….and you don’t even know them?
Well, I want to encourage you in what the Apostle Paul said that he did in situations like this. He let those “thoughts” become “trigger points” for prayer on behalf of those people. You may never know the “why” of that person running through your mind but you DO know that prayer works. We need to trust God to fulfill great things in those people as we pray for them. And don’t be surprised when you see them face-to-face only to find out they needed those prayers on the very day you prayed for them.
In Him,
Pastor Kevin Kinchen
That is so true!! The Holy Spirit is so good to bring to our memory those who need our prayers. Thank you!!
Good word, Pastor K! When those names or faces come to mind “out of the blue”, whether it’s the Holy Spirit or not I might not know, but, I generally see that as an opportunity for prayer for that person. I hope my name or face pops into people’s minds and they pray for me.
Praying for you and Margie right now. We love you guys.
