Even though I wrote a book about developing a lifestyle of intimate fellowship with God, I seem to realize the importance of it almost daily. As I read my Bible I am constantly inspired to know Him more. Check this out.
1 John 1:6 (MSG)
If we claim that we experience a shared life with him (The Amplified Bible says, “So if we say we are partakers together and enjoy fellowship with Him…”) and continue to stumble around in the dark, we’re obviously lying through our teeth—we’re not living what we claim. But if we walk in the light, God himself being the light, we also experience a shared life with one another, as the sacrificed blood of Jesus, God’s Son, purges all our sin.
Many people “claim” a shared life with God. They identify themselves as a Christian based on church attendance, a trip to an altar, or an affiliation with their denomination. Yet with this “claim” they still stumble around in an association with darkness. Many still struggle with sin. Why is this? Well, first of all we must live up to what we “claim” and actually become a partaker of fellowship with Him. We need that constant connection to the LIGHT that only Jesus can give. When connected to light…darkness flees. Sin flees. Addictions flee. Light is the solution for darkness, but we have to be plugged-in to that Light in order to truly SHINE.
Plug-in to God today. Connect with Him. Have fellowship with Him. Let the Son of God, Jesus Christ, become your life light. Remember, our Christianity is “who we are” not just something “we do.”
