In John Chapter 11 we find the story of Lazarus. Word had gotten to Jesus that His friend, Lazarus, was very ill and and on his death bed. Jesus makes this bold statement, “This sickness is not fatal. It will become an occasion to show God’s glory by glorifying God’s Son.” (John 11:4 – MSG) That was His PROMISE. What happened next? “Jesus loved Martha and her sister and Lazarus, but oddly, when he heard that Lazarus was sick, he stayed on where he was for two more days…..” (John 11:5) Go figure.
Later, Lazarus dies. Jesus knew this. In fact, He told His disciples that Lazarus had indeed died and that He must go and wake him up. Even when Jesus arrived He did not rush to the tomb, instead, He hung out a few miles outside of town. OK, if Jesus said Lazarus would NOT die then why do we find Lazarus dead in the tomb for four days? Good question!
And the answer is, “I DON’T KNOW!” But I DO know this, Jesus ALWAYS fulfills His promises….REGARDLESS of what may “appear to be.” I have a word straight from heaven just for YOU today!
“No matter how DEAD the promise of God May APPEAR TO BE right now in your life, HE WILL FULFILL HIS PROMISE!!! It may appear that it is dead, buried, and long gone, but HE will make good on HIS Word. And since that promise will now require a miraculous resurrection, you can be assured that God, and God alone, will get ALL THE GLORY! Know this, whoever continues to live, believe in, have faith in, cleave to, and rely on Jesus Christ, will NOT be disappointed….but will SEE the complete fulfillment and total manifestation of His promise!”
Don’t try to figure it all out. Instead, FEAR NOT, ONLY BELIEVE! (Mark 5:36)
Let me hear from you if today’s message was “just for you.”
