Philippians 3:10 (AMP)
“For my determined purpose is that I may know Him that I may progressively become more deeply and intimately acquainted with Him, perceiving and recognizing and understanding the wonders of His Person more strongly and more clearly, and that I may in that same way come to know the power outflowing from His resurrection which it exerts over believers…….”
I love this portion of this verse! I want to ALWAYS be in a state of…..”progressively becoming more deeply and intimately acquainted with Him, perceiving and recognizing and understanding the wonders of His Person more strongly and more clearly.” Don’t you? When people say they already KNOW God as if they have been there and done that, I have to kind of laugh. Why? God is soooooooooooooo big that it will take an eternity to “fully” know Him. And even when we think we know Him, that’s when He will do something so incredible that we stand in awe of His awesomeness and realize there is more, much more.
Notice that Paul said his “determined purpose” was to know Him. Folks, WE are the ones who make that determined purpose to know God. There is no special anointing for it. It’s not a gift of the Spirit. It’s not something for pastors only. It’s a choice. A choice we make by saying…..”I am determined to know Him!” and then following it up with action. Jesus has already initiated the relationship. Now it’s our turn to respond. Choose to know Him. Then, get ready to be amazed at the greatness of the God we serve! Amen!
