Seven Billion! Seriously?

On Tuesday I shared about Jesus and His encounter with the woman at the well in John chapter four. Then I shared how Jesus told His disciples that people are READY for the Gospel. That woman at the well went and told everyone in her city that she had met Jesus earlier that day. Read what happened next…..

Many of the Samaritans from that village committed themselves to him because” of the woman’s witness: “He knew all about the things I did. He knows me inside and out!” They asked him to stay on, so Jesus stayed two days. A lot more people entrusted their lives to him when they heard what he had to say. They said to the woman, “We’re no longer taking this on your say-so. We’ve heard it for ourselves and know it for sure. He’s the Savior of the world!” John 4:39-42 (MSG)

All it took was ONE PERSON that had the guts to GO TELL SOMEONE about this Jesus she had met. She did her part and then Jesus did HIS. At first they came because of her, but then they came because of Jesus. What a great team we make WITH Him! Get ready for this….Jesus needs YOU more than ever! The world population statistic people have issued a report that says on NEXT MONDAY our world population will reach SEVEN BILLION for the first time in history. More broadly, the report details emerging trends. This is the world era of youth, with people under the age of 25 already making up 43 percent of the world’s population; in some countries it’s already 60 percent.

So what does that mean? It means the harvest is PLENTEOUS, extremely plenteous, and the laborers are still VERY FEW! We’ve got work to do folks. With almost half of those 7 billion people being young adults, we need “all hands on deck” to pass the Good News of Jesus to the next generation, amen? Amen!!!

What will you do?
