Yesterday I left you with Matthew 14:27 (AMP) “But instantly He (Jesus) spoke to them, saying, Take courage! I AM! Stop being afraid!” He was speaking to His disciples as He WALKED ON THE WATER towards them in the midst of a raging sea. As it becomes apparent to Peter that this might actually be Jesus, he calls out to Him saying, “Lord, if it is You, command me to come to You on the water.” He said, “Come!” So Peter got out of the boat and walked on the water, and he came toward Jesus. Matthew 14:28-29 (AMP)
It was at this moment, the moment when Peter felt the water holding the weight of his body, that Peter went from experience WITH Jesus to EXPERIENCING JESUS. This is why I am such a believer of spending time with Jesus in the secret place, that place where it’s you and Him alone…on the water, in the midst of the miraculous. It’s times like this where we move from TRYING to TRUSTING. It’s times like this where we have to “get out of the boat” and step into the safety of a loving Savior…even while facing raging seas. What we seldom realize is that the raging seas in our lives are the very things that elevate us into that realm of TRUSTING HIM.
Today, why don’t you climb out of your “boat of what’s comfortable” and step onto the “weightlessness on the water” that ONLY the Master can provide. Say what Peter said, “Lord, if it is You…….?” When you hear Him say, “COME!” that is your cue. That is when you put forth action by faith. That is when you climb out of what YOU can do and climb into what HE can do. Step OUT so you can step IN! Things will get exciting and that’s when you experience HIM!!!
Have a great day on the water!
In Him,
Pastor Kevin Kinchen
