Do You OVER-REACT…To What Is Not Even REAL?

Good morning and welcome to The E-quip Devotion. Hopefully, the NEW book, The Secret Place, Revealed, will arrive this week. I have not made it available on my website yet because I want to be able to ship them out immediately when purchased. So, keep praying and I will let you know THE SECOND I make them available on my website at: ALSO…please pray for my aunt (My mom’s sister.) Lois Ann, who is in the hospital and battling multiple symptoms. She is 85 and is still plenty vibrant and has lots of life to live. I would appreciate a prayer for me as well as another kidney stone is fulfilling the Scripture “and it came to pass” even as I type this. Thanks!

So, do you over-react? And is what you over-react about even real? Oftentimes, I think many of us tend to blow-up over things that are not even valid. The devil is a liar. In fact, the truth is not in him and he is the father of all lies. What does that have to do with you or me? Well, anytime the devil “whispers” those taunts, temptations, and fire-starters in your ear you have to remember that he is a liar. That means the OPPOSITE of what he says is the truth. When he says, “You are not going to make it!” it’s a giveaway that you ARE going to make it. When he says, “REACT!” you know you should RELAX instead. I actually looked up the word “react” in every Bible Translation I have…and it is NOT even in the Bible…at all!

Check out the video below that pretty much sums up what I am trying to say.

What cracks me up is the guy at the end says, “Got it!” and it wasn’t even real. Folks, there is too much “real” in this world to waste time on that which doesn’t even exist. Worry, fear, anxiety, stress, bitterness, anger, judgment, etc., often stem from thoughts that are not even valid. We need to go to the Word for the truth. Read it, speak it, accept it, believe it, live it, and share it. Jesus never reacted. He responded but never reacted. Let’s learn from Him and allow His Word to make us like HE IS in every way. Otherwise, we will end up like that screaming lady going nuts over what does not even exist.

“This way, love has the run of the house, becomes at home and mature in us, so that we’re free of worry on Judgment Day–our standing in the world is identical with Christ’s.” (1 John 4:17 MSG)

  1. Such a good word! I can totally relate, as I was raised to be a chronic over-reactor. Thank God, that He hasn’t given up on me yet.
