Good afternoon and welcome to The E-quip Devotion. Many of you are asking when and where you can get my NEW BOOK, The Secret Place, Revealed. Well, the big truck with over 1,800 books is on its way. There have been some delays in shipping due to the tornado damages last week and this week. They will all arrive sometime next week and will first be available on our websites at: www.PastorKevin.com and also at: www.E-quip.org. Eventually, it will end up in bookstores around the country and on Amazon, etc. It takes time. I will make the “Buy Now” button on our website live either Sunday or Monday (the Lord willing) on these websites. You will be able to place your orders then and the book will be sent to you the moment we get them. I will ANNOUNCE when it is ready to go. But for now, here’s a powerful word straight from the book…
In the beginning, Adam and God must have walked together in the garden. (Gen. 3:8) They had a relationship together, a REALationship. Sin got in the way and became a problem. With Jesus though, this REALationship is restored. We have the opportunity once again to walk together with God. Christ dwells in us and through Him we are reunited with God! Now we should look forward to this intimate REALationship with God. But, as great as that is, this oneness with God is somehow overlooked by many in the busy, fast-paced society we live in. This intimacy with God through a REALationship continues to be a secret.
The reality that Jesus now dwells inside of us, and what that means concerning our restoration with our Father, explodes when we “dwell in Him.” (John 15:4-7) It’s through Jesus we can know God personally. That is why Jesus said in John 14:6, “I am the way, the truth, and the life, and no one comes to the Father except through Me.” It is when we see Him, that we see the Father. (John 14:9) It’s all about knowing Jesus and knowing the Father. My question for you is, “Are you dwelling in Jesus?” The Secret Place sets the tone for this to happen.
Allow me to give you an example of identifying the Father by knowing the Son. One time my wife and I were eating at a restaurant for the first time. I noticed that our waitress was looking at me in an inquisitive way. Finally, she said to me, “You MUST be Joshua Kinchen’s father.” I had never seen this person in my life and responded, “How do you know I have to be Joshua Kinchen’s father when you don’t even know me?” She said, “You look exactly like him only in an older body!” Right then I realized this waitress knew the father because she had already met the son. It’s the same way with God. We know who He is because we know His Son, Jesus Christ. Jesus is our way to the Father!
If you are already saved, that’s awesome. But what about this relationship with the Father? The same way a soul thirsts for the living water that only Jesus can satisfy, our Heavenly Father thirsts for a relationship with you and me. Have you ever been so thirsty you thought you would pass out if you did not find water? I am talking about that kind of thirst. The Father and the Son have already done their part; now it’s our turn. So, don’t just know you are going to heaven, but step into knowing the One who created heaven. Enjoy this relationship the way God designed it to be, personal and intimate.
Have a great weekend!!!
