Good morning and welcome to The E-quip Devotion. Many times people need healing in their lives or some other need met. People need miracles, restoration, forgiveness, and even salvation. They may ask the pastors or leaders in their church to pray for them, or even another believer, such as a friend or a relative. All of this is good. God definitely answers prayers such as these. HOWEVER…(You knew that was coming, right?) even though we know God answers prayers like these, we DO NOT KNOW exactly “how” He will do it. I have seen sooooooooooooo many people walk away from a prayer “feeling like” nothing happened and therefore, come to the conclusion that NOTHING HAPPENED.
The truth is…there is a BIG DIFFERENCE between the SPECTACULAR and the SUPERNATURAL. People tend to expect and crave the spectacular. Spectacular never healed anyone. I watched the Shuttle launch yesterday. As spectacular as it was (And it was; way to go Flight Director Tony, who attends our church.), I did not receive a miracle by it. Oftentimes, people want to SEE something or FEEL something when they receive prayer. They may want a “specific” pastor or evangelist to pray for them because they feel as if “they” are the only ones with “the power.” If they don’t get chills and goose bumps, or if the lights don’t flash, or if there is not an immediate change that is visible, they leave defeated.
Folks, it’s the SUPERNATURAL power of God that heals, delivers, saves, and sets captives free! And it is to be received “by faith” and not “by feeling.” I love it when I feel it, but I BELIEVE IT whether I feel it or not. Remember my message from last week, FAITH IS: What You DO With What You Don’t Have. The next time someone prays for you, whether you feel anything or not, walk away with your miracle. Go ahead and praise God for it like you would if every angel in heaven swept over you and raised every hair on your body. God is faithful. God is even spectacular. But, more important than that, God is supernatural and therefore, NOTHING is impossible with Him! (Luke 1:37)
John 20:29 (MSG) Jesus said, “So, you believe because you’ve seen with your own eyes. Even better blessings are in store for those who believe without seeing.”
Have a great day!
