Good afternoon and welcome to The E-quip Devotion. I don’t know about you but I seem to have quite a few translations of the Bible. As I type this devotion on my laptop I have Bible Software (www.E-Sword.net) that brings the following translations within the click of a mouse with my finger…Amplified, Bible in Basic English, Contemporary English Version, Easy-To-Read Version, Good News, God’s Word, Holman Christian Standard, King James, King James with Strong’s Concordance, Modern King James, The Message, NET Bible, New International Readers Version, New International Version, Today’s New International Version, The New Living Translation, and the Young’s Literal Translation. Whew, that’s a lot of Bibles. And that is not even counting my actual hard-copy Bibles I have. So, what’s my point? My point is that oftentimes when something is so readily available, we tend to take that something for granted. We lose our sense of the VALUE of the item. In America, I believe this is the case with the Bible.
First, are we even reading our Bibles? Do we realize the power that’s available to us on the pages of every chapter? Also, when we do read it, do we read it with a fresh understanding that the words on every page are the Voice of God in a printed format? We need to picture God Himself (or Jesus Himself if the words are in red) speaking those words directly to us. We should accept the fact that the Word of God is the LIVING WORD. That is why we can read the same verse many times throughout our life and get something different from it each time. And lastly, after we realize the value, the authority, the power, and the wisdom of the Word of God, do we BELIEVE it, APPLY it, and SHARE it as it deserves?
I pray we ALL get a fresh revelation on the importance of God’s Word in our life. If you have a Bible in your possession, treasure it, appreciate it, read it, apply it, and share it. The world will be a better place for it. This VIDEO below shows the value of the Word of God. It touches my heart every time I watch it. Let me know what you think!
