Good afternoon and welcome to The E-quip Devotion. If you will click on the Title of today’s message it will take you to the main blog page for these devotions. At the TOP of that page you will see a tab, “Prayer Requests.” Please click that tab to see some urgent prayer requests I just added. Your comments and words of encouragement are welcomed on that page so when the families see them they know they are not alone. Thanks!
I am still checking out the Book of Job. After Job had suffered quite a bit he made some judgmental assessments against God. He spoke about things he knew nothing about. Haven’t we ALL done something like this at one time or another? I think it’s kind of funny when God appears on the scene and says these words…“Why do you confuse the issue? Why do you talk without knowing what you’re talking about? Pull yourself together, Job! Up on your feet! Stand tall! I have some questions for you, and I want some straight answers. Where were you when I created the earth? Tell me, since you know so much!” (Job 38:2-4 MSG)
Don’t you hate the ol’ “Where were you when I created the earth?” question. There is never an answer good enough. After a few minutes I am sure Job realized that he had talked out of his “emotions” instead of his spirit. He had spoken according to circumstances instead of according to God’s Promises. Once again, we have ALL done something like this in our own life. SO, what did God do for Job after He addressed him? What happened after Job got things back into proper perspective? What happened to Job after he LISTENED to God instead of “trying to figure Him out?” And finally, what happened to Job after he prayed for his so-called friends the way God told him to? Well, not only did God COMPLETELY RESTORE Job’s life and fortunes, but He DOUBLED IT AS WELL!
Folks, there is ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS a reward for those who DO NOT QUIT! For those who DO NOT GIVE UP! I am encouraging YOU to not give up. Don’t quit. Keep pressing forward. I know it’s hard. I know things look impossible. I know you don’t think you can go another step. But YOU can do ALL THINGS THROUGH CHRIST WHO STRENGTHENS YOU! (Phil. 4:13) The reward is worth it! God is faithful! YOUR “double-portion” is on its way! DO NOT Q-U-I-T!!! Remember, we win!!!
