Good morning and welcome to The E-quip Devotion. Woo Hoo! This is a BIG week so I would appreciate your PRAYERS. First off, we begin recording this week for the new satellite television broadcast that will air next month to ALL of the Middle East and ALL of Europe. Also, please pray for a release date for the book, The Secret Place, Revealed, BEFORE April 1. Imagine that…the TV program AND the book coming out at the same time. The book is going to be talked about and offered on every broadcast. I love God’s marketing plan! Through the satellite broadcast the book has the potential to go world-wide overnight. And remember, it’s the contents inside the book that get me so excited about it going world-wide. I firmly believe that anything and everything is available in The Secret Place. Time alone with God is ALWAYS profitable. Oh, I forgot to tell you, the official name of the TV broadcast has finally been decided. Ready? THE SECRET PLACE. Imagine that!
Don’t forget, GO TO WWW.THENETREV.COM TO SIGN UP FOR THE NEW E-QUIP DEVOTION FORMAT. We are moving to a BLOG format instead of the current mailing-host format. Those who have already signed up and are reading this on the BLOG, I look forward to your comments and your insight God gives you about the devotions. This week will be the last week I post the messages in both formats. After that, those who have NOT signed up for the new format at the address above will only see a link to sign up for the new format. So, make the change to stay connected to The E-quip Devotion! We are in our 12th year for this devotion and we are just getting started!!!
Last week as I talked about Matthew 16:23-26, I said…“Jesus rebuked Peter in verse 23. Peter was still “seeing things merely from a human point of view.” We cannot live for God AND live for self at the same time. When we are trying to live our life “our own way” and “God’s way” at the same time. After a while, that kind of living gets uncomfortable. After a LONG while, it gets REAL irritating to the point of being miserable. That is not the kind of “life” Jesus wants us to experience.” So, let me continue along these lines of “living for self vs. living for Christ.”
When the disciples asked Jesus how to pray, He responded with what we call, The Lord’s Prayer. (Matt. 6:9-15) In verse 10 Jesus says, “Your kingdom come, Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.” Well, I have prayed that many times and I am sure you have too. When I pray that verse I always tell God, “There is no sickness or poverty in heaven. So therefore, Your will concerning health and finances be done here on earth in my life AS IT IS in heaven.” That is a good prayer. I believe it and see it as it comes to pass in my life. HOWEVER, the Lord dealt with me about OTHER THINGS that either are or are NOT in heaven. He dealt with me to pray the same way about those things. For example, do you know that in heaven there is NO rebellion? There is NO disobedience. There is continual PRAISE. There is honor and respect and holiness. There is unity and total submission to the King and His plan. Should I keep going?
When is the last time ANY OF US prayed, “God, let me be OBEDIENT today on earth as it is in heaven.” Or have we prayed, “God remove ANY SIGNS of rebellion in me towards You, my parents, my boss, those that have authority over me, the laws of the land, or to Your Word because AS IT IS in heaven so it shall be here on earth.” Do we pray, “Lord, I am going to PRAISE YOU today, regardless of my circumstances, tests, and trials I am going through BECAUSE as they are continually praising you in heaven, I will continually praise you here on earth.” And I could go on and on but you get my point. Folks, WE have been crucified with Christ…it’s no longer about US, it’s about Him IN us. Let’s start letting that be an ACTION as well as a confession. Let those around us SEE the Kingdom of God at its best when they see US. Christ IN us, that is how it is supposed to be. HOW do we do that? TOTAL SURRENDER. Let’s stop pulling up the self-gratifying character traits of our old nature. Let’s put on Christ…not in word only…but with actions that make those words visible to all. When it is no longer about us, we can easily pray, “Your Kingdom come, Your will be done…ALL OF IT, on earth, in my own life, as it is in heaven,” Amen? Amen.
